LYNN — A 32-year-old man was arrested Thursday for allegedly assaulting a woman and firing a gun in her Lynn home.
Ronald Spraglin was charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, assault with a dangerous weapon, unlicensed firearm possession, carrying a loaded firearm, assault and battery, and drug possession.
Police responded to a call for a disturbance at 17 Shillington Ave., a three-family home, at about 5 a.m., and learned there had been an assault with a handgun, according to Lynn Police Lt. Robert Godbout.
The gun had also been fired in the home, but nobody was injured, Godbout said.
“We believe it might have been a shot into the air,” said Godbout. “He might have assaulted the female victim.”
Two women were home during the incident. Spraglin, who does not live at the home, was still there when officers arrived. He was subsequently taken into custody, Godbout said.
