LYNN — A Joyce Street fixture since 2013, Full Color Signs and Graphics stepped up to help students restricted to their homes by coronavirus precautions learn and have fun.
Full Color owners and spouses Obed and Maribel Matul are printing 50-page worksheet packets and giving them away free to parents, grandparents and guardians who request the packets on Full Color’s Facebook page or call or text (781) 632-1270.
They handed out 57 packets on Monday and another 64 on Tuesday. People interested in the packets are encouraged to pre-order instead of stopping by the downtown store and asking for the packets in order to comply with precautions aimed at keeping crowds from congregating.
A Lynn resident for more than 20 years, Maribel Matul was inspired to assemble the packets after her nephews, ages 3 to 12, sat at home last week with their eyes glued to television, laptop and mobile device screens.
“We know we all are going through a difficult time. It makes us feel really good to be helping kids,” she said.
Most of the worksheets in the packet are available on the Lynn public schools website. The Matuls took the extra step of printing the sheets and grouping them into grade-appropriate packets. Some packets contain fun-oriented worksheets, some are filled with mathematics worksheets and other lesson plans.
“There’s a little bit of everything,” said Obed Matul.
Anyone requesting packets through Facebook or by text should list the school and grade the child attends. The Matuls will print and assemble the packets for pick-up at their store.
