Connecticut College sophomore hockey player and Peabody native Anthony Quatieri has been named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Winter 2020 All-Academic Team.
To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing, and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale.
Quatieri — a St. John’s Prep graduate from 2016 — is part of the Connecticut College Class of 2022, majoring in economics with a 3.6 GPA. He was one of 66 Connecticut College student-athletes to receive the honor.
Following his time at the Prep, Quatieri played two years of junior hockey before joining Connecticut College.
In his time at Connecticut College, Quatieri has become a reliable scoring option. After a strong freshman season with seven goals and six assists, Quatieri finished his sophomore year with four goals and 13 assists. His season highlight came in the final game of the regular season, when he scored the game-winning goal over Colby to send Connecticut College to the NESCAC Tournament.
Quatieri played four years of varsity hockey for St. John’s Prep and was a part of the 2015 Division 1A “Super 8” championship team.
