REVERE — Massachusetts State Police, responding to an early Tuesday morning report from a resident of high-rise condominium on Revere Beach Boulevard, discovered the body of an adult male washed up on the beach, in the area of the Oak Island Bathhouse.

Troopers from the State Police-Revere Barracks responded to the call, posted about 6:50 a.m., and confirmed the discovery. Preliminary observation suggests the man may have washed onto the shore from the ocean.

According to State Police, the condition of the body “suggests the decedent had been in the water for a period of time prior to its discovery.”

State Police detectives and Troopers from the MSP Crime Scene Services Section also responded. No identification was found on the body, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the man’s identity and circumstances of his death.

The body was transferred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

No further information is available at this time. The investigation is being led by State Police and is under the jurisdiction of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
