LYNN

Arrests

Angel Avelino, 27, of 80 Chatham St., was arrested and charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle at 5:35 p.m. Thursday. 

Brian French, 35, of 182 Washington St., was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, destruction of property under $1,200, and breaking and entering into a motor vehicle (nothing stolen) at 5 a.m. Thursday. 

Kevin Gobeil, 54, of Biddeford, Maine, was arrested and charged with having a default warrant at 3:47 p.m. Thursday. 

Garret Labonte, 40, of Biddeford, Maine, was arrested on a warrant charge of refusing to provide a DNA database sample at 4:02 p.m. Thursday. 

Accidents

A report of a motor vehicle crash at City Hall Square and South Common Street at 12:07 p.m. Thursday; at 21 Lewis St. at 5:48 p.m. Thursday; at Eastern Avenue and Western Avenue at 5:56 a.m. Friday. 

Breaking and entering

A report of someone breaking and entering into a motor vehicle at 183 Washington St. at 4:39 a.m. Thursday. 

Dead on arrival 

A report of a body on the first floor of 126 Maple St. at 3:50 a.m. Friday. 

Overdoses

A report of an overdose on the first floor of 178 Chestnut St. at 12:36 p.m. Thursday. 

Theft

A report of larceny at 39 Shepard St. at 12:29 p.m. Thursday; on the first floor of 27 Clarendon Ave. at 6:30 a.m. Friday. 

Vandalism

A report of motor vehicle vandalism at 111 Curwin Circle at 12:40 p.m. Thursday. 

A report of vandalism at 63 Lynnway, unit no. 13, at 2:50 p.m. Thursday; on Oxford Street at 12:05 a.m. Friday. 


MARBLEHEAD

Vandalism

An officer discovered new graffiti on the harbor side of the causeway on Ocean Avenue at 9:45 a.m. Thursday. 


SAUGUS 

Accidents

An officer at 5:39 p.m. Thursday reported a vehicle that had been left in neutral rolled down Kowloon parking lot and smashed into the barrier near Ocean State Job Lot. The vehicle was driveable and the officer attempted to make contact with the owner. 

An accident in the area of Hamilton Street was reported at 9:05 a.m. Thursday. 

Complaints

Police received a call at 8:42 p.m. Thursday about a male wearing a black sweatshirt, jeans, and a gray backpack who was whispering to himself in the bushes on Essex St. Dispatched officers searched the area and were unable to locate the man. 

A caller at 4:58 p.m. Thursday reported a woman was taking pictures of license plates from her car near Petco on Broadway. A search of the area for the woman turned up negative. 

Department of Public Works 

A blocked storm drain was reported at 8:07 a.m. Friday at Bons Pl. The Department of Public Works was notified.

Hazardous materials

A report of a HAZMAT situation on King’s Beach Terrace at 3:06 p.m. Thursday.
