National Grid on Tuesday said 9,514 customers, most of them in Lynn, were affected by an outage that hit the city and Salem mid-Tuesday afternoon.
Utility spokeswoman Christine Milligan said a failed aerial cable on Highland Avenue in Salem caused the outage at 2:34 p.m.
“We made the repair and had everyone back by 3:26 p.m.,” said Milligan.
National Grid website maps showed outage clusters off Western Avenue in West Lynn and off Newhall Street and Sagamore Street.
