Although Lynn reported only six new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, two more residents have died from the virus.
The city’s death toll is now 88, with the two additional fatalities that were reported since data was last updated on Tuesday afternoon.
Elsewhere, other North Shore communities reported a small number of new cases, but no additional deaths on Wednesday.
Lynn data has shown a handful of new cases each day in May, but the decreases have not been enough to offset spikes seen in April.
At 3,311 COVID-19 cases, Lynn ranks fourth in the state in terms of the highest number of cases and third in infection rate at 3,089 per 100,000 residents, according to data from Lynn and last week’s update from the state Department of Public Health.
The DPH website indicates that town-by-town data is updated every Wednesday at 4 p.m., but no update has been provided so far this week.
Of the city’s total cases, 1,877 remain active, as 1,346 residents have recovered from the virus.
Peabody, which has among the highest death tolls in the area, at 133, reported no additional deaths on Wednesday.
The city reported 12 new cases since Monday, which brings its caseload to 978 — 427 residents have recovered, according to Peabody Health Director Sharon Cameron.
Lynnfield reported an additional case on Wednesday, which brings its numbers to 92 cases and 11 deaths.
Nahant’s numbers remained the same at 41 cases and six deaths.
At press time, Marblehead, Revere, Saugus and Swampscott had not released updated numbers.
As of Tuesday, Marblehead has 223 cases and 30 deaths, Revere has 1,570 cases and 68 deaths, Saugus has 484 cases and 28 deaths, and in Swampscott, 122 residents have been infected and nine have died.
