COVID-19 cases rise in Lynn, Revere, Saugus

An additional COVID-19 death was reported in Lynn Friday, and three more in Peabody since Wednesday. Lynn, Peabody, Revere, and Saugus all reported a rise in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases. 

Lynn has now seen 89 residents die from COVID-19. The city also reported 15 new cases Friday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 3,360, with 1,817 cases considered “active.” 

In Peabody, 991 cases and 136 deaths were reported on Friday, up from 978 cases and 133 deaths on Wednesday. 

Revere reported 15 new cases, bringing the total to 2,819, with 1,624 cases. The number of deaths in Revere remained at 75. 

Saugus’ cases increased to 508 (including active cases and recoveries) the town reported Friday, up from 484 on Tuesday. The number of deaths was unchanged at 29. 

In Lynnfield, Nahant, and Swampscott, updated numbers Friday showed no change in the number of COVID-19 cases or deaths. 

Lynnfield’s numbers of confirmed cases, 92, and deaths, 11, have remained the same since Tuesday. Nahant has 41 cases and 6 deaths. Swampscott has 122 cases and 8 deaths. 

Marblehead and Salem had not reported updated numbers by press time. On Wednesday, Marblehead had 223 confirmed cases and 30 deaths. On Thursday, Salem reported 589 cases (206 active) and 27 deaths.
