Lynn, Peabody report more virus deaths

More than 150 Peabody residents have now died from the coronavirus while Lynn’s death toll continues to creep toward the century mark. 

With five more deaths since Monday, Peabody’s death toll is now 151, according to the city’s Health Director Sharon Cameron. 

Lynn reported two additional deaths on Wednesday, which brings its virus fatality count to 95. 

Lynn has 3,537 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Of that total, 1,368 cases remain active, as 2,074 residents have recovered from the virus. 

In Peabody, 1,026 residents have been infected and 643 people have recovered. 

Several other North Shore communities reported a small number of new cases, but no additional deaths on Wednesday. 

Lynnfield reported one new case to bring its numbers to 96 cases and 11 deaths, while Nahant’s numbers remained unchanged at 46 cases and six deaths. 

Marblehead reported an additional case to bring its caseload to 225. The town has not updated its death count since Monday, June 1, when 30 deaths were reported. 

With six new cases reported on Wednesday, Revere now has 1,738 cases and 78 deaths. 

Saugus diagnosed three new cases to bring its totals to 545 cases and 31 deaths, while Swampscott’s numbers remained unchanged at 127 cases and eight deaths.
