Item Zooms in on Swampscott candidates today

SWAMPSCOTT — Candidates for the contested Select Board and School Committee seats will debate virtually on Zoom Thursday, with The Daily Item hosting the debate.

The Select Board debate will be at 10 a.m. There are three candidates vying for two seats on the Swampscott Select Board: Neal Duffy, 44 Humphrey St.; Stephen T. Williams, 10 Puritan Lane; and David M. Grishman, 55 Sampson Ave. All three candidates are newcomers, with no incumbents on the ballot.

The School Committee debate will be at 2 p.m. Incumbent Suzanne Wright, 11 Hardy Road, and newcomers Keiko Zoll, 69 Nason Road, and John N. Giantis, 61 Blaney St., are vying for two seats.

The Swampscott town election will be held on Tuesday, June 30, at Swampscott High School, 200 Essex St. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The debates will be moderated by The Item’s Carolina Trujillo.
