June 22, 2020 by Gayla Cawley

Lynn is approaching a grim milestone.

With two more deaths reported on Monday, the city’s coronavirus death toll is now 98.

Over that same time frame, since Friday, Lynn reported 22 new cases, which brings the city’s caseload to 3,629.

Of that total, 853 cases remain active, as 2,678 people have recovered from the virus.

Elsewhere, Saugus reported an additional death, but no new cases, and Peabody reported five new cases, but no additional deaths.

As of Monday, Saugus has 554 cases and 35 deaths.

Peabody now has 1,044 cases — 160 residents have died and 763 have recovered from the virus, according to Health Director Sharon Cameron.

Several other North Shore communities reported no change in their numbers or did not release updated figures on Monday.

Numbers remained the same in Lynnfield (96 cases and 11 deaths), Marblehead (228 cases and 30 deaths), Nahant (42 cases and six deaths), and Revere (1,777 cases and 82 deaths) on Monday.

At press time, Swampscott had not released updated numbers. As of Friday, the town has 128 cases and eight deaths.
