June 30, 2020 by Gayla Cawley

Saugus reported an additional coronavirus death on Tuesday to bring the town’s death toll to 36.

In addition to Saugus, new virus cases were reported in Lynn, Lynnfield, Marblehead and Revere.

Lynn reported eight new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, which represents an unwelcome uptick a day after the city had zero new cases for the first time since the outbreak started.

Lynn now has 3,668 cases and 101 deaths — 694 cases are active and 2,873 people have recovered from the virus, according to city data.

In Lynnfield, where numbers have remained steady in recent days, there were three new cases reported on Tuesday. The town now has 101 cases and 11 deaths, according to the town website.

With two new cases reported, Marblehead now has 230 cases and 30 deaths. Fewer than five of the town’s cases are active, according to data posted by the Marblehead Police.

Four new cases were reported in Revere, which brings the city’s caseload to 1,817. Eighty-four people have died and 1,511 have recovered from the virus, according to the city website.

Saugus diagnosed one new case, which brings its total number of cases to 557, according to the town website.

Numbers continued to remain the same in Nahant. The town has 42 cases and six deaths.

At press time, Peabody (1,057 cases, 164 deaths) and Swampscott (129 cases, eight deaths) had not released updated numbers.
