Seven more virus deaths reported

Peabody reported four additional deaths on Wednesday, Saugus has had two more deaths, and another resident has died from the coronavirus in Lynn. 

New cases were also reported in several North Shore communities. 

With the additional virus fatalities, Peabody’s death toll is now 171. 

Thirty-eight Saugus residents have now died from COVID-19 and the additional death in Lynn brings the city’s death toll to 107.  

Seven new cases were reported in Lynn on Wednesday to bring the city’s total number of cases to 3,829. Of that total, 487 cases are active and 3,235 people have recovered from the virus, according to city data. 

With nine new cases reported since Monday, Peabody now has 1,105 cases, but 855 people have recovered, according to the city’s health department. 

In Saugus, four new cases have been reported since last Friday, which brings the town’s caseload to 566, according to the state Department of Public Health. 

New cases, but no additional deaths were also reported in Revere and Swampscott on Wednesday. 

Revere has diagnosed three new cases to bring the city’s total number of cases to 1,922. Ninety residents have died and 1,643 have recovered from the virus, according to the city website.  

Swampscott reported an additional case to bring the town’s total numbers to 138 cases and nine deaths. 

Numbers remained the same in Lynnfield (104 cases, 11 deaths), Marblehead (243 cases, 30 deaths) and Nahant (44 cases, six deaths) on Wednesday.
