An additional death was reported in Peabody, and Lynn and Revere reported the same double-digit increase in new coronavirus cases on Friday.
The death toll now stands at 173 in Peabody, which has reported nine new cases since Wednesday.
Peabody now has 1,130 cases, but 867 residents have recovered from the virus, according to Health Director Sharon Cameron.
Lynn and Revere both reported 19 new cases on Friday, which bring their respective caseloads to 3,940 and 2,013.
In Lynn, 500 of those cases are active, as 110 residents have died and 3,330 have recovered, according to city data.
Ninety-three residents have died in Revere and 1,678 have recovered from the virus, according to the city website.
Although numbers remained the same in Nahant (50 cases, six deaths) on Friday, the rising number of cases in the past two weeks prompted a statement from Town Administrator Antonio Barletta.
Barletta said there have been nine new cases in Nahant over the past two weeks, which follows nearly five weeks of no cases reported in town, which matches a trend of increasing cases throughout the state.
“I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the importance of wearing masks and social distancing,” said Barletta. “Some of these cases have been young children. Due to summer activities, the number of contacts for these new cases has been high.”
Barletta noted that summer activities, such as beach days and outdoor barbecues can make it difficult to wear masks and practice social distancing, but he implored residents to adhere to those restrictions.
“It is up to us as individuals to protect ourselves and our neighbors,” he said.
Numbers also remained the same in Lynnfield (104 cases, 11 deaths) and were not updated in Marblehead, Saugus or Swampscott on Friday.
As of Thursday, Saugus had 579 cases and 38 deaths. Marblehead (247 cases, 30 deaths) and Swampscott (143 cases, nine deaths) have not released updated numbers since Wednesday.
