Lynn, Revere report double-digit increase in virus cases

An additional death has been reported in Revere to bring the city’s death toll to 94. 

And Lynn and Revere continue to report double-digit daily increases in coronavirus cases. 

With 17 new cases reported on Monday and 85 since last Friday, Lynn now has 4,216 cases. 

Of that total, 663 cases are active in Lynn, as 111 people have died and 3,442 have recovered from the virus, according to city data.

Fourteen new cases were reported in Revere on Monday to bring the city’s caseload to 1,178. A total of 1,894 residents have recovered from the virus, according to the city website. 

New cases were also reported in Lynnfield, Marblehead and Peabody on Monday. 

In Lynnfield, seven new cases were reported to bring the town’s total numbers to 111 cases and 11 deaths.

Marblehead has reported one additional case since last Monday, Aug, 3. The town now has 255 cases and 30 deaths. 

Five new cases have been reported in Peabody since last Friday to bring the city’s caseload to 1,178. The city’s death toll remained the same at 174 and 882 people have recovered, according to the health department. 

Nahant (50 cases, six deaths) reported no change in its numbers on  Monday, and health data was not updated in Saugus or Swampscott. 

As of Friday, Saugus has 604 cases and 38 deaths, and Swampscott has not updated its numbers since last Wednesday, when the town reported 145 cases and 10 deaths.
