Lynn and Revere reported a double-digit surge in new coronavirus cases on Thursday.
And Lynn reported an additional death to bring the city’s death toll to 116.
Lynn and Revere are among the five highest risk communities the Baker-Polito administration has targeted for additional intervention this weekend.
With 23 new cases reported on Thursday, Lynn’s caseload is now 4,610. Of that total, 597 cases are active and 3,915 people have recovered from the virus, according to city data.
Revere reported 15 new cases to bring the city’s total number of cases to 2,433. Ninety-eight people have died, according to the city website.
Numbers remained the same in Lynnfield (114 cases, 11 deaths) and Nahant (52 cases, six deaths) and were not updated in Marblehead, Peabody, Saugus or Swampscott.
As of Wednesday, Marblehead had 263 cases and 30 deaths, Peabody had 1,244 cases and 179 deaths, Saugus had 659 cases and 40 deaths, and Swampscott had 160 cases and 10 deaths.
