Peabody reports additional virus death

Peabody reported an additional death, and new coronavirus cases were also reported Monday in Lynn, Lynnfield, Marblehead and Revere.

With five new cases and the additional fatality, Peabody now has 1,259 cases, 182 deaths and 979 people have recovered, according to the health department.

In Lynn, four new cases were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 4,763. Of that total, 616 cases are active, 117 people have died and 4,030 have recovered from the virus, according to city data.

Lynnfield reported three new cases to bring the town’s caseload to 130. Eleven people have died.

Two new cases have been reported in Marblehead since last Monday, Sept. 7. The town now has 266 cases and 30 people have died.

In Revere, four new cases were reported to bring the city’s total numbers to 2,555 cases and 99 deaths. Despite the reprieve Monday, the city is averaging 20.6 new cases a day over the past seven days, according to the city website.

Numbers remained the same in Nahant (52 cases, six deaths) and were not updated Monday in Saugus or Swampscott.

As of last Wednesday, Saugus had 666 cases and 41 deaths, while Swampscott had 262 cases and 11 deaths.
