The St. Mary’s field hockey team continued to reach milestones Monday afternoon, as the Spartans notched their first varsity win in program history with a 5-4 victory over Central Catholic.
Maggie Pierce had a hat trick to lead the offense for St. Mary’s, while Pejae Parent had one goal and two assists in the win. Lily Pregent had one goal.
St. Mary’s (1-1-1) plays on the road at rival Bishop Fenwick Thursday (4).

Swampscott 1, Gloucester 1
Olivia Baran scored the lone goal for the Big Blue, while Harper Clopton, Jordan Waters and Isabella Modica all played well in the draw.
Swampscott (1-0-1) hosts Peabody Thursday (5:30).
BOYS SOCCER
Bishop Fenwick 3, Arlington Catholic 0
The Crusaders got two goals from Jack Anderson in the victory, while Keiron Murray scored one goal. Aidan Dwyer, Ryan Noci and Andrew McKenzie each had one assist, while goalkeeper Liam Foley recorded his third shutout in a row.
Fenwick (3-1) has a rematch against Arlington Catholic Wednesday (4).

Lynnfield 4, Ipswich 0
A flurry of second-half goals lifted the Pioneers to victory over Ipswich Monday. Ben Sykes, Mateusz Brzezinski, Henry Caufield and Brian Costa all scored for Lynnfield. Jack Zelvan also played an impressive game in the middle while Dante Gesmando and Chris DeSilva split time in net for the shutout.
The Pioneers (2-1) visit Amesbury Wednesday (3:30).

Saribelle Diaz scored the lone goal for the Spartans in the loss. St. Mary’s (2-2-1) travels to Austin Prep Wednesday (4).

Despite a competitive match, the Spartans fell by set scores of 15-25, 23-25, 25-20, 14-24. St. Mary’s (1-2) travels to Austin Prep Tuesday evening (5).

The top performers for the Spartans were Kyle Kwiatek in second place (18:16), Anthony D’Itria in ninth place (19:57), Jesse Moriello in 11th place (20:04) and Isaiah Weston in 15th place (21:19).
