Lynn, Revere, Saugus report double-digit surge in virus cases

Lynn, Revere, and Saugus reported a double-digit increase in new coronavirus cases on Tuesday. 

Two additional fatalities were reported in Revere to bring the city’s death toll to 106. 

Revere also reported 17 new cases to bring the city’s caseload to 2,895, according to the city website. 

In Lynn, 16 new cases were reported to bring the city’s total number of cases to 5,128. Of that total, 287 cases are active, 118 people have died and 4,723 have recovered, according to city data. 

Saugus has reported 21 new cases since last Thursday. The town now has 755 cases and 42 deaths, according to the town website. 

One new case each was reported in Lynnfield and Marblehead to bring their respective numbers to 151 cases and 14 deaths, and 285 cases and 30 deaths. 

Swampscott has reported seven new cases since last Wednesday. The town now has 175 cases and 11 deaths, according to the town website. 

Numbers remained the same in Nahant (52 cases, six deaths) and were not updated in Peabody, which had 1,343 cases and 186 deaths as of last Friday.
