LYNN — A 27-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after he was shot on Austin Square Wednesday night, police said.
The Chelsea man was found shot in a car near the 7-Eleven and was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he underwent surgery, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
The victim told police he was shot while he was walking down the street, but was “fairly uncooperative” with officers at the scene about the circumstances of the shooting, Kmiec said.
The man was shot in his upper body and was still alive as of late Thursday afternoon, Kmiec said.
Police said the victim was conscious when police found him in his car and claimed he was walking down the street when he “realized he had been shot.”
There are no suspects and the incident is under investigation.
