Virus surge continues on North Shore

Coronavirus cases continued to surge Monday on the North Shore

Double-digit increases were reported in both Lynn and Revere, and new cases were seen in several other communities. 

In Lynn, 31 new cases were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 5,774. Of that total, 596 cases are active, 123 people have died and 5,055 have recovered, according to city data. 

Revere reported 17 new cases to bring the city’s total numbers to 3,406 cases and 109 deaths, according to the city website.  

Thirty-two new cases have been reported in Peabody since last Friday to bring the city’s caseload to 1,526. Of that total, 190 residents have died and 1,085 have recovered, according to the health department. 

Nine new cases have been reported in Lynnfield since last Thursday. The town now has 183 cases and 14 deaths, according to the town website. 

Nahant has reported six new cases since last Thursday to bring the town’s caseload to 67. Six residents have died, according to town data. 

Two more cases have been reported in Swampscott since last Thursday. The town now has 193 cases and 11 deaths, according to the town website. 

Numbers have not been updated in Marblehead (299 cases, 30 deaths) or Saugus (865 cases, 43 deaths) since last Thursday.
