To the editor: A “yes” vote for Lynnfield future

November 10, 2020 by the-editors

Dearest Lynnfield neighbors, friends, family and residents,

The secret is out that many young families have been moving to our beautiful town of Lynnfield in recent years.

In conversations, I consistently hear that residents were drawn by the easy commute to Boston, quick access to highways, MarketStreet, sense of community, and, above all, the strong school system.

Additionally, if you ask a real estate agent about a key component to be a revered town with increasing property values, you will hear that it is a result of highly-rated, quality schools.

As an outcome of the consistent growth among the town’s young families, our schools have reached full capacity and are anticipated to continue to grow in years to come.  Research from The New England School Development Council and town officials have concluded that both elementary schools need to be expanded in order to keep class sizes low and accommodate the growing population.

Our schools need additional space and new classrooms which is why I am voting “yes” at the Special Town Meeting on November 21 to approve the Lynnfield School Expansion project.

We have an opportunity to expand the schools, keep teacher to student ratios low, and provide a permanent structure so future generations can enjoy the school system.  These improvements are what all of our children and future generations in Lynnfield deserve.

This investment now is the right one to make as a long-term investment to the town as a whole. I implore you to vote “yes” at Special Town Meeting on November 21.  On behalf of my family and my two elementary school children, I thank you for your consideration.
