Virus cases continue to mount in Lynn, Peabody, Revere

The coronavirus surge slowed down Monday, but double-digit increases in new cases were still reported in Lynn, Peabody and Revere.

An additional death was also reported in Revere to bring the city’s death toll to 111. 

In Lynn, 39 new cases were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 6,660. A total of 1,010 cases are active, 126 people have died, and 5,524 have recovered from the virus, according to city data. 

With 86 new cases reported since last Friday, Peabody now has 1,833 cases. The city’s death roll is 194 and 1,188 people have recovered from the virus, according to the health department. 

Sixteen new cases were reported in Revere to bring the city’s caseload to 3,891, according to the city website. 

New cases were also reported in Lynnfield, Nahant and Swampscott on Monday.

Lynnfield (231 cases, 14 deaths) reported nine new cases, Nahant (82 cases, six deaths) reported six new cases, and Swampscott (221 cases, 11 deaths) reported nine new cases. 

Numbers have not been updated in Marblehead (328 cases, 30 deaths) or Saugus (1,042 cases, 45 deaths) since last Friday.
