This year has probably taken a lot out of all of us. For one mom, 2020 has been a year of ups and downs, and she’s sacrificed plenty along the road.
“I have been truly blessed during this pandemic to be on the front lines as a COVID nurse,” She wrote.
We all owe a thanks to the nurses, doctors and other important essential workers who have devoted themselves to doing some of the most important jobs when things changed during the pandemic this year. This mom saw her priorities change midway through the year when the need for her at the frontlines battling COVID was outweighed by her importance at home.
“My sons came back into my custody at the end of the summer and due to their special needs, the therapeutic programs they normally attend are closed due to state mandates,” She wrote.
The absence of those programs has had this family living day to day.
“I have been on a leave of absence and living check-to-check on unemployment just to pay the rent and care for all of my children,” she wrote.
During tough times, making Christmas worthwhile is oftentimes and after thought, but with some help Item Santa can still deliver some joy at the end of the year.
“Thank you for making Christmas a time of wonder and magic for my family,” she wrote.
