Virus cases soar in Lynn, Peabody and Revere

Coronavirus cases continue to soar in Lynn, Peabody and Revere. 

In Lynn, 372 new cases were reported over the weekend, including 92 cases reported Monday alone.

Lynn now has 9,503 cases, 1,766 of which are active, and 7,593 people have recovered, according to city data. 

The city reported an additional virus death to bring its death toll to 144. 

Revere has reported 304 new cases since last Friday, including another 75 Monday. Another death was also reported in the city, which brings its total numbers to 5,637 cases and 120 deaths, according to the city website. 

In Peabody, 159 new cases and an additional death have been reported since last Friday, which brings the city’s caseload to 3,177 and its death toll to 215. A total of 1,470 people have recovered from the virus, according to the health department. 

Forty-eight new cases have been reported since last Friday in Lynnfield, which now has 484 cases and 16 deaths, according to the town website. 

Swampscott has reported 49 new cases since last Thursday. The town now has 429 cases and 11 deaths, according to the town website. 

Three new cases were reported in Nahant to bring its total number of cases to 111. The town’s death toll is six, according to the town website.

Numbers were not updated in Marblehead or Saugus, which had 503 cases and 31 deaths, and 1,714 cases and 46 deaths, respectively, as of last Friday.
