Lynn reported another significant spike in coronavirus cases on Wednesday, while new cases were also seen in Lynnfield, Peabody, and Revere.
The 187 new cases reported by Lynn on Wednesday represent the third highest single-day total for new cases for the city during the pandemic, according to city data.
The single-day high occurred on Dec. 9, when 196 cases were reported.
Lynn now has 9,817 cases, 146 deaths, 1,682 active cases, and 7,989 people have recovered from the virus, according to city data.
All COVID-19 testing is canceled on Thursday due to the forecasted snowstorm, according to an announcement from Mayor Thomas M. McGee’s office.
Testing is scheduled to resume at the Federal Street lot behind the Western Avenue Fire Station on both Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and at the Lynn Community Health Center on Friday at their usual hours.
Testing will not be available at the Lynn English High School parking lot on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, according to McGee’s office.
In Peabody, 109 new cases and two additional deaths have been reported since Wednesday, which brings the city’s total numbers to 3,286 cases and 217 deaths. A total of 1,525 people have recovered, according to the health department.
Revere reported 57 new cases, which brings the city’s totals to 5,776 cases and 120 deaths, according to the city website.
Seventeen new cases were reported in Lynnfield to bring the town’s caseload to 518. Seventeen people have died, according to the town website.
Numbers remained the same in Nahant (111 cases, six deaths), and were not updated in Marblehead, Saugus or Swampscott on Wednesday.
As of Tuesday, Saugus had 1,847 cases and 46 deaths, Swampscott had 429 cases and 11 deaths as of Monday, and Marblehead (503 cases, 31 deaths) has not provided updated numbers since last Friday.
