New virus cases, deaths reported across North Shore

New coronavirus cases were reported in Lynn, Lynnfield, Nahant, Revere and Saugus on Tuesday. 

And additional deaths were reported in both Lynnfield and Saugus, which brings their respective death tolls to 23 and 53, according to town data. 

In Saugus, 204 new cases have been reported since last Friday, which brings the town’s total number of cases to 2,781, according to town data. 

Twelve new cases were reported in Lynnfield to bring the town’s caseload to 751, according to the town website.

Lynn reported another triple-digit spike in cases on Tuesday, with 132 new cases over a 24-hour period. The city now has 12,891 cases, 2,116 of which are active, 166 people have died, and 10,609 have recovered from the virus, according to city data. 

In Revere, 43 new cases were reported to bring the city’s total numbers to 7,848 cases and 129 deaths, according to the city website. 

With three new cases reported on Tuesday, Nahant now has 176 cases and six people have died, according to the town website. 

Numbers were not updated in Marblehead, Peabody or Swampscott. As of Monday, Peabody had 7,848 cases and 129 deaths and Swampscott had 730 cases and 13 deaths. Marblehead (789 cases, 31 deaths) has not provided updated numbers since last Friday.
