COVID deaths reported in Revere, Saugus, Lynn reports triple-digit case spike

Following two days of reporting fewer than 100 new coronavirus cases, Lynn was back to reporting a triple-digit case increase on Thursday. 

With 108 new cases reported, Lynn now has 13,781 cases, 1,961 of which are active, 171 people have died, and 11,649 have recovered from the virus, according to city data. 

In Revere, 60 new cases and two additional deaths were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 8,456 and its death toll to 135, according to the city website. 

Saugus reported 65 new cases and an additional death, which brings the town’s total numbers to 3,060 cases and 58 deaths, the town website said. 

In Salem, 30 new cases were reported on Thursday. The city now has 3,469 cases and 64 people have died, reported the city website. 

Lynnfield (814 cases, 24 deaths) and Nahant (190 cases, six deaths) also reported a change in their numbers, with 12 and six new cases reported respectively. 

Numbers were not updated in Marblehead or Swampscott on Thursday. As of Tuesday, Swampscott had 811 cases and 13 deaths, and Marblehead (863 cases, 31 deaths) has not provided updated numbers since last Friday.
