LYNN — An 18-year-old Whitman man was stabbed in Lynn Monday night, police said.
Police responded to Linwood Road and Grove Street at 8:17 p.m. and found a victim had been stabbed in his abdomen and was suffering from a laceration to his head, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
The victim was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Kmiec said.
When police responded, they found several friends of the victim tending to his injuries, but “they weren’t extremely forthcoming with information,” in terms of the circumstances of the stabbing, Kmiec said.
“We don’t believe (the stabbing) occurred at that location,” said Kmiec. “The officers believe it occurred at another location, possibly the downtown area. Part of the problem was the individuals involved were not from the area, so they were not exactly sure what street they were on at the time.”
No arrests have been made and the incident is under investigation, said Kmiec, noting that police have not had the opportunity to speak with the victim.
