Lynn reports virus spike, two additional deaths

Lynn reported a spike in coronavirus cases and two additional deaths on Wednesday. 

New cases were also reported in Lynnfield, Revere and Saugus.

In Lynn, 84 new cases were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 14,240. Of that total, 1,811 cases are active, 177 people have died, and 12,252 have recovered from the virus, according to city data. 

Saugus has reported 102 new cases and an additional death since last Thursday. The town now has 3,162 cases and 59 deaths, according to the town website. 

In Revere, 37 new cases were reported to bring the city’s total numbers to 8,740 cases and 137 deaths, the city website reported. 

Seven new cases were reported in Lynnfield, which now has 893 cases and 27 deaths, according to the town website. 

Numbers remained the same in Nahant (206 cases, six deaths) and were not updated in Marblehead, Peabody, Salem, or Swampscott on Wednesday. 

As of Tuesday, Salem had 3,626 cases and 64 deaths; Peabody had 5,509 cases and 264 deaths, and Swampscott had 832 cases and 13 deaths as of Monday; and numbers have not been updated in Marblehead (919 cases, 31 deaths) since last Friday.
