World Series Park Lighting Fund still in need of donations

Saugus’ World Series Park has been raising money to add lights to its baseball field for several months now, establishing the World Series Park Lighting Fund to allow people to help reach the fundraising goal.

Lights will be installed at World Series Park this year. Lighting the field will extend its use by allowing for more games to be played and never having to stop games because of darkness.

“We are asking people who have ever played a baseball game or attended a game at World Series Park to help our Lighting Fund by making a donation,” said Bob Davis, superintendent of World Series Park. “As we begin our seventeenth season, we feel we are ready for lights not only financially, but because we need to extend the field use as it is in high demand during the season. Donations are coming in dribs and drabs, but we have a lot more funds to raise. Several of our sponsors have already donated, and we are extremely grateful for their generosity. Please help us in our effort to get lights for the park.”

Donations to the World Series Park Lighting Fund can either be mailed to: World Series Park, 8 Holden Ave. Saugus, MA 01906 or by going to worldseriespark.net and doing it through GoFundMe. People who donate $100 or more will get their name on a permanent plaque. Donations can also be made in honor of others or in memory of loved ones. Lesser donations will gladly be accepted.
