Six more Peabody residents have died since Monday, which brings the city’s death toll to 275.
Peabody’s death toll continues to climb at a much more rapid rate than surrounding communities, including COVID-19 hot spots like Lynn and Revere, which have reported 180 and 141 deaths respectively throughout the pandemic.
In Peabody, 39 new cases have been reported since Monday to bring the city’s caseload to 5,703. A total of 4,756 people have recovered from the virus, according to the health department.
Lynn reported 63 new cases on Wednesday, which brings the city’s caseload to 14,667. Of that total, 1,687 cases are active and 12,800 people have recovered, according to city data.
In Revere, 41 new cases were reported to bring the city’s total number of cases to 8,989.
Saugus has reported 67 new cases and an additional death since last Thursday, which brings the town’s total numbers to 3,280 cases and 61 deaths, according to the town website.
In Salem, 22 new cases and an additional death have been reported since Monday. The city now has 3,774 cases and 66 people have died, the city website reported.
Six new cases were reported in Lynnfield (929 cases, 27 deaths) and numbers remained the same in Nahant (213 cases, six deaths) on Wednesday.
Numbers were not updated in Marblehead, which had 1,000 cases and 31 deaths as of last Friday, or Swampscott, which had 853 cases and 16 deaths as of Monday.
