Lynn, Lynnfield, Revere, Salem and Saugus report new virus cases

New coronavirus cases were reported Tuesday in Lynn, Lynnfield, Revere, Salem and Saugus. 

Saugus also reported an additional death, which brings the town’s death toll to 64. 

Forty new cases have been reported in Saugus since last Friday to bring the town’s caseload to 3,490, the town website said.

In Lynn, 16 new cases were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 15,431. Of that total, 282 cases are active, 193 people have died, and 14,956 have recovered from the virus, according to city data. 

Revere reported 12 new cases to bring the city’s total numbers to 9,466 cases and 149 deaths, according to the city website.

Seven new cases were reported in Salem. The city now has 4,033 cases and 72 people have died, the city website reported. 

Lynnfield reported an additional case, which brings its total number of cases to 1,001. Twenty-nine people have died, according to the town website. 

Numbers remained the same in Nahant (222 cases, six deaths) and were not updated in Marblehead, Peabody, or Swampscott on Tuesday. 

As of Monday, Marblehead had 1,146 cases and 31 deaths, Peabody had 6,121 cases and 291 deaths and Swampscott had reported 930 cases and 19 deaths.
