Revere reports five more virus deaths, new cases seen across North Shore

Five additional deaths have been reported in Revere since last Friday to bring the city’s COVID-19 death toll to 157. 

In addition, Lynn, Lynnfield, Peabody and Salem all reported new coronavirus cases Monday. 

In Revere, eight new cases were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 9,730, the city website reported.  

Peabody also reported an additional death. With 37 new cases reported, the city now has 6,306 cases, 298 people have died, and 5,624 have recovered from the virus, according to the health department. 

In Lynn, 16 new cases were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 15,731. Of that total, 262 cases are active, 198 people have died, and 15,271 have recovered, the city reported. 

Lynnfield (1,057 cases, 29 deaths) has reported 16 new cases since last Friday, Salem (4,139 cases, 75 deaths) has reported 28 new cases since last Friday, Nahant (223 cases, six deaths) reported no change in its numbers, and case and death counts were not updated in Marblehead, Saugus or Swampscott. 

As of last Friday, Marblehead had 1,172 cases and 31 deaths, and numbers have not been updated in Saugus (3,571 cases, 65 deaths) or Swampscott (949 cases, 19 deaths) since last Thursday.
