The Lynn Tech volleyball team opened up the season on a high note Tuesday, earning a 3-1 win over Northeast Tech on the road. The Tigers earned the win by set scores of 25-17, 22-25, 25-11, 25-19.
βIt was a great way to start the season, especially since we graduated eight seniors and had a lot of girls who were getting their first real varsity playing time,β said Tech coach Kaitlyn Wechsler. βWe knew that we were going to need to grow coming into the year, so seeing the girls come out and play so well and with so much energy was great to see. I think everyone was just excited to be back and they rode that momentum for the whole match.β
Derlande Montas had a solid game for Tech with four aces, three kills and one block, while Lily Cote added three aces, three assists and one kill. Dairin Collazo had three aces and seven digs in the win.
Tech (1-0) plays on the road at Northeast Thursday (4).
