Despite falling behind by two sets and getting pushed to match point, the Lynn Tech volleyball team managed to rally back and earn a 3-2 win over Northeast Tech on the road Thursday afternoon. The Tigers won by set scores of 17-25, 21-25, 27-25, 25-21, 15-12.
βIt was a really good win for us,β said Tech coach Kaitlyn Wechsler. βThe fact that we were all the way down to match point and we fought back to win, I told the girls after the match that they really showed a lot of grit and determination. They just never quit out there.β
Derlande Montas had another solid game with eight kills, two aces and two blocks, while Daleri Garcia had seven aces, two kills and one block. Jasinairy Camilo added five aces and five assists in the win.
Tech (2-0) plays on the road at Mystic Valley Tuesday evening (5:15).
βWe definitely still have some things to work on because we had a lot of service errors (Thursday), so weβll get back on the practice court and keep working,β said Wechsler. βWeβve got a tough week coming up next week, so weβre going to need to be at our best.β
