New virus cases, deaths reported in Peabody and Salem

New coronavirus cases were reported Monday in Lynn, Lynnfield, Nahant, Peabody, Revere and Salem. 

Additional deaths were also reported in Peabody and Salem. 

In Lynn, 16 new cases were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 15,923. Of that total, 289 cases are active, 199 people have died, and 15,435 have recovered from the virus, according to city data. 

Peabody has reported 48 new cases and an additional death since last Friday. The city now has 6,410 cases, 301 people have died, and 5,746 have recovered, the health department reported. 

Twenty-six new cases and two additional deaths have been reported in Salem since last Friday to bring the city’s total numbers to 4,204 cases and 77 deaths, according to the city website. 

In Revere, 12 new cases were reported, which brings the city’s caseload to 9,853. Its death toll is 157, the city website said. 

Lynnfield (1,070 cases, 29 deaths) reported one new case; Nahant (232 cases, six deaths) has reported nine new cases since last Friday; and numbers were not updated in Marblehead, Saugus or Swampscott. 

As of last Friday, Marblehead had 1,195 cases and 31 deaths and numbers have not been updated in Saugus (3,626 cases, 66 deaths) or Swampscott (965 cases, 19 deaths) since last Thursday.
