The Lynn English girls basketball team kept up its strong start to the season Wednesday afternoon, notching a 49-31 win over Greater Boston League foe Revere on the road.
“We definitely didn’t play our best out there (Wednesday),” said English coach Mackenzie Charles. “I don’t know if we’ve ever won a game by 18 points when we played so poorly, but we’ll certainly take it.
Freshman Jaeleigh Perry had 10 points and eight rebounds in the win, while freshman Alisha Jean had eight points and six rebounds. Sophomore Maddy Laurino added eight points.
Revere (0-3) takes on Medford Friday (4).
English (2-0) travels to Somerville Friday evening (6).
“We’ve got to get better in our halfcourt defense,” said Charles. “We were able to rebound well and we finished the game with limited mistakes, so we’re hoping to build off of that. We have a young team, so we still have to learn how to get past mistakes and not let them hurt us.”
