NAHANT — Summer is just around the corner, and resident parking stickers for 2021 are now available, Nahant Police announced.
“We suggest residents try to get theirs as early as possible because what happens is, before they know it, it’s 80 or 90 degrees out and they’re looking to get to the beach and they don’t have their stickers,” said Nahant Police Chief Robert Dwyer. “It makes it difficult for (the police) to do our job.”
The stickers, for use by residents whose cars are registered and garaged in Nahant, are required in order to park in all local lots — located at the low-lands and Short Beach, Northeastern/Canoe Beach, the Town Wharf lot, and Bailey’s Hill — as well as other spaces around Nahant.
Dwyer added that the stickers ensure traffic control goes smoothly during the hectic summer months.
“(Residents) need those stickers in order to park in any of those designated lots,” he said. “If we see a beach sticker on a vehicle and we know it’s a Nahant resident who’s parked properly, we can move right past it.”
Stickers are available to Nahant residents only. Those who request a sticker must be able to provide proof of address along with their application.
A vehicle license plate number must be supplied for each sticker purchased, and a valid vehicle registration is required.
For more information regarding the stickers or the ordering process, residents should call the Town Hall at (781) 581-0088.
