The Bishop Fenwick football team didn’t miss a beat in its return to the field Saturday evening, scoring 26 points in the first quarter en route to a 45-6 win over Dracut in a non-conference battle to open up the season.
The Crusaders’ offense was explosive from start to finish Saturday, with quarterbacks Chrys Wilson and Steven Woods combining for five touchdown passes. Woods completed 8-of-9 passes for 164 yards and three touchdowns, while Wilson completed 3-of-4 passes for 47 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and also rushed for a team-high 82 yards. Receiver Stefano Fabiano had five receptions for 83 yards and three touchdowns, while receiver Angel Martinez caught three passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Jake Connolly added 64 rushing yards, 34 receiving yards, one rushing touchdown and one receiving touchdown in the win. Defensive lineman Matt Juneau contributed five tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery for the winners, while Connolly also came up with an interception.

FOOTBALL
BC High 37, St. John’s Prep 35 (2OT)
The Eagles were close to victory on multiple occasions Saturday afternoon, but in the end BC High was able to make one more play and take home the win on a successful two-point conversion.
Running back James Guy rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns in his season debut, while quarterback Victor Harrington completed 15-of-26 passes for 228 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions and also rushed for one touchdown. Receiver Jackson Delaney had seven receptions for 141 yards and one touchdown, while receiver Jessie Ofurie had five receptions for 71 yards and one touchdown.
St. John’s Prep (1-1) travels to Catholic Memorial Saturday afternoon (12).
BOYS TRACK
Austin Prep 60, St. Mary’s 22
The lone winner on the day for the Spartans was Anthony D’Itria, who finished first in the high jump (five feet, four inches) and second in the 100-meter (12.4 seconds). John Nowicki finished second in both the 55 hurdles (9.4) and the 200 (24.6), while Declan Dorgan finished third in both the 55 hurdles (10.2) and the high jump (4-8). Kyle Kwiatek finished second in the one-mile (5:01.1), Matheus Menezes-Avendanha finished third in the 1000 (3:16.9), Dylan Moroney finished third in the 200 (24.9) and Jaiden Madden finished third in the 100 (12.4).

GIRLS TRACK
Austin Prep 54, St. Mary’s 28
The Spartans got wins from Kaelyn Jennings in the 55 hurdles (10.0), Juliana Taborda in the 600 (1:51.3) and Anna Fringuelli in the 1000 (3:49.9). Summer Marston placed second in the 200 (30.6) and third in the 100 (14.7), while Kelsey Kwiatek finished second in the one-mile (6:19.7), Roisin O’Regan finished third in the 200 (31.8) and Sophia O’Brien finished third in the 1000 (4:29.5).
