Revere exceeds 10k virus cases, Lynn and Peabody also report upticks

New coronavirus cases were reported Wednesday in Lynn, Lynnfield, Peabody and Revere. 

Numbers remained unchanged in several other North Shore communities. 

In Lynn, 26 new cases were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 16,224. Of that total, 320 cases are active, 203 people have died, and 15,701 have recovered from the virus, according to city data. 

Revere has now reported more than 10,000 cases. With 29 new cases reported on Wednesday, the city’s caseload is now 10,008. Its death toll is 159, according to the city website. 

Thirty-five new cases have been reported in Peabody since Monday to bring the city’s total numbers to 6,561 cases and 305 deaths, the health department said. 

Lynnfield (1,105 cases, 29 deaths) reported one new case, Nahant (243 cases, eight deaths) reported no change in its statistics, and numbers were not updated in Marblehead, Salem, Saugus or Swampscott. 

As of Tuesday, Salem had 4,272 cases and 78 deaths, and Saugus had 3,763 cases and 67 deaths. Numbers have not been updated in Marblehead (1,213 cases, 31 deaths) or Swampscott (994 cases, 19 deaths) since last Friday and Thursday respectively.
