The Lynn Tech Unified basketball team kept its undefeated season alive Tuesday afternoon, notching a 36-30 win over Marblehead on the road. Defense and rebounding were the keys to the victory, according to coach Justin Barrasso.
The Tigers are now 3-0 and play against Danvers on Tuesday (4).
SWIMMING
Lynn Tech 84, Greater Lawrence 43
Liam Donovan and Zakariya Bidoudane were both double-winners for Tech in the win, with Donovan taking the 100 breaststroke and the 200 freestyle and Bidoudane taking the 100 butterfly and the 500 freestyle. Other winners for the Tigers were Jeffrey Bucko in the 200 individual medley and Rashaud Newhall in the 100 backstroke. Tech also had three relay wins, with the team of Bidoudane, Bucko, Mario Rivera and Kyle Lindquist winning the 200 medley relay, the team of Donovan, Lindquist, Jeremiah Arzola and Trevor Powers winning the 200 freestyle relay and the team of Donovan, Arzola, Rivera and Powers winning the 400 freestyle relay.
Tech is now 3-0 on the season.
Malden 95, Lynn Classical 70
Sydney Finnigan was the lone winner for Classical, taking the top spot in the 500 freestyle. Top performers for the Rams included Camille Mendonca in the 200 individual medley (second place), Adam Mariano in the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly (second place) and Daniel Puma in the 100 breaststroke (second place).Three swimmers who improved their times in each event were Brianna Rodriguez (500 freestyle and 50 backstroke), Mary Collins (100 butterfly and 50 freestyle) and Jessica Page (200 freestyle and 100 backstroke).
