LYNN — A shooting outside of a Newhall Street building Monday afternoon sent one man to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said the victim was expected to undergo surgery Monday night.
A crowd of police and detectives gathered outside of the door of 100 Newhall St., a four-story apartment building at 4:40 p.m., about an hour after the shooting was reported.
The street was blocked off from the corner of Amity Street to about halfway down Newhall, where a section of the street had been sectioned off with crime scene tape.
No suspects have been identified and the shooting is under investigation.
