LYNN — The KIPP football team got back on the winning track Saturday evening, notching a 29-14 victory over Whittier Tech in a non-conference bout at Manning Field.

Quarterback Juan Setalsingh had a great all-around game for the Panthers, notching 220 yards of total offense with two touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown.

Receiver Victor Mafo added one rushing and one receiving touchdown in the victory, while Joseph Tolentino provided a highlight-worthy touchdown reception as well. Linebacker Dave Filias and defensive back Alex Ogando led the Panthers in tackles, while the defensive line play from Mike Brice, Jose Castillo and Kenneth Beato was dominant all night.

KIPP (3-2) will host Essex Tech Friday night (5) at Manning Field for the Panthers’ Senior Night.

Running back James Guy rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown, while receiver Jesse Ofurie had one reception for 46 yards.

St. John’s Prep (2-3) plays on the road at Tewksbury Saturday afternoon (1).
