Despite playing one of its best matches of the season Tuesday, the Lynn Tech volleyball team just didn’t have enough firepower to get over the hump in a 3-2 loss to Notre Dame Academy on the road. The Tigers fell by set scores of 25-23, 16-25, 25-23, 23-25, 11-15.
“It was a really good match and probably one of the best we’ve played all year,” said Tech coach Kaitlyn Wechsler. “Notre Dame is definitely one of the best teams we’ve gone up against all season, and we went toe-to-toe with them. We might not have come out with the win this time, but there are a lot of positives we can take from this one.”
Derlande Montas had a solid game with seven kills, one ace and one block, while Jasinairy Camilo added five aces, three assists and one block. Dairin Collazo had six aces and four digs in the loss.
Tech (6-5) plays on the road at Notre Dame Academy again on Thursday (4) in its season finale.
“We have a day to regroup, look at the film and practice some things and we’re ready to get back out there,” said Wechsler. “We gained a lot of confidence from (Tuesday’s) match and we’re hoping we can finish off the season with a big win.”
