A shorthanded Lynn English girls soccer team showed some improvement Thursday and fought to a 0-0 tie on the road at Greater Boston League foe Medford.
“It was definitely a better showing for us, especially defensively,” English coach Abby Driscoll said. “I think we’re starting to find our groove out there.”
Starting goalkeeper Elysse Newson missed the game with an injury, but Emma Farris-Howes stepped in and made some big saves in net for the Bulldogs.
English got great defensive efforts from Arsema Gebreyesus, Anadia Whelton and Arianna Garcia, but it just couldn’t find the back of the net to put itself over the top for the first win of the year.
English (0-1-1) is on the road again at Revere Saturday (12).
