To the editor:
I was pleased and proud to see the Town of Swampscott welcome signs. At the top of the sign is an emblem of a heart in front of an anchor. This picture is in the middle of a headline declaring: “Everyone is Welcome Here.” This is followed by a paragraph below that assures that this welcome extends to everyone, regardless of any biological appearance.
This Swampscott sign welcoming diversity appears at the Swampscott fire station, Town Hall, the police station, and in the storefronts of many shops along the Humphrey Street business district.
I’m so glad that these wholesome Swampscott signs are totally unaffiliated to any connection with that combative, divisive, threateningly intimidating, highly politicized, obnoxious movement known as “Black Lives Matter.”
Look at Black Lives Matter’s shameless emblem: a black fist with the threatening ultimatum “No justice. No peace.” For me, that tells a lot about who they are.
In Minnesota, the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul were full of barbed wire barricades, armed National Guard members, state troopers and there were even hovering military planes — all in case it would be necessary to intervene to protect these American Twin Cities from the violence, looting, arson, and destruction of rioting mobs of protesters unhappy with the impending verdict outcome.
I saw in the televised news mobs of Black people awaiting the verdict. They were against a background covered with lots of Black Lives Matter graffiti. Why should there be any fear from Black Lives Matter? Don’t they consider a jury verdict “justice” or do they consider it justice only when the jury delivers the verdict they want them to deliver?
Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all counts. The security forces breathed a sigh of relief and went home. So tell me, who does America have to be protected from more? Who does the American justice system of trial-by-jury have to be protected from more: white rioters or Black rioters?
