Revere, Saugus report additional virus cases, deaths

New coronavirus cases and an additional death apiece were reported Thursday in Revere and Saugus. 

New cases were also reported in Lynn, Lynnfield, Nahant, Revere, and Salem. 

In Revere, nine new cases and the additional death bring the city’s total numbers to 10,734 cases and 162 deaths, according to the city website. 

Forty new cases have been reported in Saugus since last Thursday to bring the town’s caseload to 4,129. The town’s death toll has climbed to 72 over the past seven days. 

In Lynn, 25 new cases were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 17,377. Of that total, 262 cases are active, 214 people have died, and 16,901 have recovered from the virus, according to city data. 

Ten new cases were reported in Salem, which now has 4,649 cases and 80 deaths, the city website said. 

Lynnfield (1,191 cases, 29 deaths) reported six new cases, Nahant (250 cases, eight deaths) reported two new cases, and numbers were not updated in Marblehead, Peabody, and Swampscott. 

Peabody had 7,128 cases and 316 deaths as of Wednesday, Marblehead had 1,306 cases and 31 deaths as of last Friday, and Swampscott (1,126 cases, 19 deaths) has not updated its numbers since April 20.
