REVERE — The Revere football team’s offense was just about unstoppable Friday night in a 38-22 win over visiting Lynn English at Harry Della Russo Stadium on Senior Night.

With high winds across the North Shore, Revere ran the ball plenty with Adetayo Atitebi, Calvin Boudreau and Billy Byrne-Ginepra.

Atitebi rushed for 117 yards on 16 carries with two touchdowns, Boudreau totaled 44 yards on the ground with another pair of touchdowns and Byrne-Ginepra had 137 yards on 12 carries and one touchdown. Boudreau also got it done through the air going five-of-eight passing for 103 yards

“We ran the ball well and passed the ball well,” Revere coach Lou Cicatelli said. “Calvin was a big part of our success tonight all over the field. When you can throw the ball the way he is throwing it right now, you’re going to have a lot of success.”

English had some good performances in the ground game as well. Anthony Timmons got the bulk of the work with 20 carries for 99 yards while quarterback Jessie Maggs ran eight times for 39 yards and two touchdowns. Maggs also completed 8-of-14 passes for 106 yards and one touchdown. DJ Brathwaite hauled in five passes for 64 yards and one touchdown.

English’s downfall was its inability to slow down the Patriots, who scored on every one of their offensive drives.

“You have to get stops in football,” English coach Chris Carroll said. “I know offense always gets talked about but you need stops. And we have not done a good job getting those stops in two games now. We did not tackle well and we did not pursue the ball well.”

Boudreau started things off on the Patriots first drive. The quarterback ripped off scrambles of 13 and 19 yards before punching in a two-yard touchdown to open up the scoring. Atitebi’s two-point run put Revere up 8-0 early on.

The Bulldogs answered with their own run-heavy drive. Timmons had a few tough runs and Shea Palmer added a few nice counter runs to set English up at the goal line. From there Maggs took a quarterback sneak seven yards to the end zone and rushed in a two-point attempt the following play to tie the game at 8-8.

Revere started to find some success in the passing game on its next drive with Boudreau hitting Dillion Day and Jarrod Natola for chunk plays to get in striking distance. Atitebi’s three-yard touchdown run a few plays later put Revere back up on top in the final minutes of the first half. Boudreau connected with Wilmer Mejia on the two-point attempt and the Patriots took a 16-8 lead into the half.

Revere quickly started to run away with it in the third. Boudreau started the half with a one-yard touchdown run and Atitebi tacked on the two-point conversion.

One drive later Byrne-Ginepra ran a touchdown in from three yards out and Boudreau connected with Natola for two points to stretch the Revere lead to 32-8.

English answered with a one-yard touchdown run by Maggs and Brathwaite’s two-point run. But Revere went right down the field and Atitebi ran in a touchdown from five yards out to put Revere up 38-16 and just about wrap things up.

Maggs and Brathwaite connected on a four-yard touchdown on the final play to cap off the scoring for English.

Revere (2-0) visits Malden (6).

English (0-2) gears up for its Thanksgiving make-up against Classical Friday (6) at Manning Field.

“On a positive note we did have 22 points and move the ball well,” Carroll said. “Jessie made some nice plays for us, we want to be in the spread more. The wind didn’t affect the defense but it did change the plan offensively a bit.”
