LYNN — The Brickyard Collaborative will hold a COVID-19 vaccine clinic this Saturday, May 15, from 1 to 5 p.m.
The local makerspace has partnered with Lynn Community Health Center to offer the Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and Moderna vaccines to residents, with no appointment needed.
“One of the challenges is getting everyone vaccinated, so this is our part of the effort to do that,” said Ted Dillard, executive director of Brickyard.
The clinic will also be open to children ages 12-15, who became eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine this week after the age group was approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
In December, Brickyard received a $100,000 grant from the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation to help with technical assistance and training during the pandemic.
To encourage residents to get vaccinated, the Brickyard will offer the first 50 people at the clinic a handmade dog tag necklace that reads “I got my shot.”
“We rescued a dog tag-printing machine from the 1950s off of Craigslist,” Dillard said. “We’ve been having fun with it ever since. People give you stickers when you get your shot, so we thought it would be something fun to do.”
The Brickyard Collaborative is located at 71 Linden St. in Lynn.
